Famous And Infamous Quotations Welcome to the “Famous And Infamous Quotations” section. Regardless of the advocacy, certain individuals have a proclivity for “Going over the top” with their assertions while others attempt to minimize the impact of their claims with simple facts. We call the first group the “Dragons” and the second “The Dragon Slayers.” We further divide the “Dragon” category into “Hysterians” and “Off-The-Wallers” and the “Dragon Slayers” into “Scientists” and Non-Scientists.” An excellent example of statements (and quite apropos) made by the “Dragon” group occurred during the 1970’s when the clamor by the likes of NASA’s James Hansen, the New York Times, Newsweek, and other like minded individuals and groups were all screaming “Global Cooling, Global Cooling!” After Nature’s cycle changed and things starting heating up a bit, all of the above began shouting “Global Warming, Global Warming.” Determining whether an individual falls within the “Hysterians” and “Off-The-Wallers” category is somewhat judgmental on our part, but we believe you’ll agree with us in most cases! As far as the “Dragon Slayers” are concerned, they have also been placed in two categories: Scientists and Non-Scientists. The “Scientists” group are those credentialed individuals involved one way or another in climatology. The “Non-Scientist” group includes individuals well known for their intelligence and successes in research, business, industry, and grassroots involvement.
